I cooperated with Pauline Payen, a fellow French ex-pat also living in Berlin, to photograph a piece for Estimated Times,  an art publication distributed in Toulouse, France, in december 2012.

Europa was a young Phoenician woman abducted by the god Zeus in the form of a white bull, who took her westward to the island of Crete. Many classical painter took this Myth as a subject during the Renaissance, i.e Titian, Rembrandt, or Noël-Nicolas Coypel whom Jean-Louis and Pauline took model on to produce the picture. The interpretation of the classical painting let us see a rather older Europa, far from the young virgin that she was. The bull who was formely strong and passionate  is  a plastic toy, unable to walk appart  in our imagination; everyone is turning back toward the east, (re)playing the scene. The Cherubs flying around Europe became 30 years old sexual creatures; their golden panties are echoing the stars on the flag of the Euro.

My daughter Lilas needs some pics for her facebook page, I need to test the daylight in the atelier, we've got a deal...

We found a roll of linen canvas left by the previous occupant, the only effort is to unroll it!

First morning at the former painter atelier where I just moved to with my daugther Lilas.

Lilas went to the Berlin Chinese school as every Saturday and I went down the stairs after her and around the block taking a few snaps of my fresh new neighborhood.

A whole new world just 4 stops down the U7line from the old place.
